Job summary

Stormont Vail Health in Kansas is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to prep, assemble, clean and sterilize instrumentation for surgeries and exams. You will ensure adherence to sterilization processes and maintain instrument integrity for safe patient care.

The role requires hospital experience, preference for sterile processing background and certification such as CRCT-HSPA. You will work weekend shifts, 36 hours per week, in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with strict safety

Qualifications

Experience in an acute care hospital setting.
Preferred experience in surgery environment.
Certification: CRCT - HSPA preferred.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates knowledge of chemicals and cleaning agents used in the department.
Assembles trays and peel packs with contents, indicators, labeling and sterilization methods.
Performs steam and Sterrad sterilization procedures.
Follows MIFU and safety protocols for decontamination.
Works in a team, is self-motivated and adaptable.
Performs biological testing procedures.
Maintains instrument sets and equipment identification.
Keeps records and reports related to decontamination and sterilization.
Maintains a clean, safe work area.
Re-stocks shelves to defined par levels.
Communicates issues to leadership.
Follows hospital/department policies.
