Job summary

Matheny Medical and Educational Center in Basking Ridge, NJ is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) for our community residence. The role includes weekend shifts (7am-7pm) and provides personal care support, documentation, and collaborative care with staff.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and preferred experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver's License.
• One year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care tasks to assigned clients, addressing hygiene, safety, comfort, nutrition, and activity needs.
• Ensures clients are dressed properly, clean, and dry at all times.
• Respects clients’ rights, privacy, and dignity at all times.
• Notifies the nurse of pain, injury, or changes in client condition.
• Transports clients to and from day program classes and activities.
• Documents requirements and maintains accurate records during shifts.
• Works with a partner to complete duties per facility policies.
• Participates in team meetings and day program activities.
