Job summary

Colonial Group in Springfield, MO is seeking a shift supervisor to lead the assembly team, drive production goals, and uphold quality and safety standards on the weekend shift.

You will coordinate labor, monitor workflow, analyze data, train staff, and partner with EHS and Quality to maintain regulatory compliance and AS9100. A high school diploma and 3 years in manufacturing with leadership experience are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read work instructions, blueprints, and schedules.

Summary

Leads and coordinates shift-level assembly team performance, ensuring targets are met for production, quality, and safety through hands-on support and leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead team members and track quality and production goals.
• Coordinate scheduling and monitor workflow efficiency.
• Analyze labor and production data for improvements.
• Inspect finished products and adjust operations accordingly.
• Coach, train, and evaluate team performance.
• Uphold Positronic’s standards of integrity, quality, and operational excellence.
• Identify hazards in the workplace and report them to management and/or the safety coordinator.
• Collaborate with the EHS department to meet local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA, and Amphenol sustainability practices.
• Work with the Quality department to ensure compliance with AS9100 certification standards.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, including at least 2 years in a lead, team lead, or supervisory role directing the work of others.
• Able to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints or assembly drawings, and production schedules.
• Basic computer skills: email, Microsoft Excel and Word, and entering or pulling data from an ERP/MRP system.
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices and the ability to enforce safety rules on the floor.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in business, industrial technology, manufacturing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in a tight-tolerance, high-reliability manufacturing environment.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement tools; Green Belt or similar certification is a plus.
• Experience scheduling labor, tracking productivity and efficiency metrics, and leading root‑cause and corrective‑action work.
• Experience with Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or a similar ERP system.

Physical

• Frequent walking with periods of sitting and standing.
• Occasional ladder climbing and stooping.
• Uses arms/hands frequently to assist with machinery.
• Occasionally lifts 0–30 lbs; rarely up to 50 lbs.
• PPE includes safety glasses at all times; gloves as required.

Shift: Weekend Shift (Saturday - Monday 7:00am - 7:30pm)

Working Conditions

Work is performed in production zone with frequent exposure to loud machines and nitrogen-based chemicals.

Knowledge
