Job summary

Perishables Distributors of Iowa - PDI is seeking a part-time Weekend Route Driver to safely operate trucks and ensure timely deliveries. You will manage paperwork, provide excellent customer service at stores, and maintain compliance with DOT regulations daily.

The role requires a valid CDL, DOT certification, and reliable physical ability for heavy work. 21+ years old with strong driving and communication skills is essential.

Qualifications

• CDL license and DOT certification required.
• Excellent customer relations and verbal communication.
• Must be 21 years or older and able to read/write for paperwork.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks per DOT guidance.
• Experience with reefer or temperature-controlled transport preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate all company vehicles and equipment safely to deliver products on time.
• Complete paperwork and provide store-level customer service.
• Adhere to DOT regulations including hours of service and drug testing.
• Conduct pre/post trip inspections and use electronic logging equipment.
• Coordinate with dispatcher on route times and loads.
