Job summary

Perishables Distributors of Iowa - PDI is seeking a part-time Weekend Route Driver to operate company vehicles and ensure prompt delivery of products. You will perform paperwork, customer service at store level, and ensure product integrity via temperature monitoring.

The role requires a CDL, ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally, and adherence to DOT regulations. Pre-employment screenings and a drug test are part of the process, with competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Accredited truck driving school preferred.
• 1-2 years semi-driving experience preferred.
• Pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Reports to work on schedule and meets delivery times.
• Completes daily VCR, reefer unit monitoring, and load information.
• Pre-trip and post-trip inspections are performed.
• Follows DOT hours of service and logs (paper or electronic).
• Provides customer service at the store location and handles credits.
• Manages contract shipments and backhauls with accurate counts and temperature control.
