Premier Healthcare at Harrington House, Walpole, MA, is seeking a Weekend Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor to lead our nursing team in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting.

This leadership role oversees staff, coordinates clinical operations, administers care, and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations while promoting resident safety and quality of care. The position emphasizes teamwork, professional development, and compassionate resident-centered care.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current CPR certification.
• Previous skilled nursing or long-term care experience preferred; qualified candidates without this experience are encouraged to apply.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and staff supervision abilities.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to address staff and resident concerns with professionalism, tact, and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Work scheduled 12-hour weekend shifts.
• Supervise and support Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Medication Technicians, and Restorative Aides on assigned units.
• Provide direct nursing care, including wound care, IV therapy, colostomy care, tube feedings, and suctioning, in accordance with licensure, competency, and facility protocols.
• Review and implement physician orders in accordance with facility procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and monitor residents for changes in condition or adverse reactions.
• Promptly communicate significant changes in residents' health status to physicians and appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Coordinate resident admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Conduct regular rounds to assess resident needs, evaluate care delivery, and ensure staff follow facility policies.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support individualized care plans and comprehensive resident care.
• Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives and regulatory surveys.
• Support residents and families during end-of-life care in collaboration with the appropriate healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and required nursing records.
• Promote compliance with applicable federal and Massachusetts regulations, facility policies, and infection prevention standards.
• Provide staff guidance, coaching, and support while maintaining a professional and collaborative work environment.
• Respond appropriately to clinical concerns and emergencies.
