Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensed in Connecticut; CPR certified.
• Experience in geriatric nursing or rehabilitation preferred.
• Proficient in English and able to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assists in interpretation of nursing policies and ensures implementation.
• Supervises nursing personnel on assigned shift to maintain continuity of care.
• Resolves work-related complaints of charge nurses and CNAs during shift.
• Makes rounds to ensure maximum care and communicate family concerns.
• Responds to emergencies with medical oversight.
• Verifies medical changes and physician orders.
• Secures pre-admission report on new residents.
• Ensures a safe environment for residents and staff.
• Ensures complete and accurate documentation and conducts chart audits.
• Manages supplies and reports equipment malfunctions.
• Coordinates physician visits alignment and compliance.
• Assumes supervisor responsibility for the facility.
• Audits emergency and crash carts for stock.
• Counts and controls medications at shifts start/end.
• Ensures IV policies and programs are followed.
• Assigns nursing personnel during emergencies.
• Assists in recruitment and orientation of staff.
• Conducts 90-day and annual employee performance reviews.
• Returns medications to pharmacy in a timely manner.
• Attends Medicare meetings and ensures certifications are completed.
• Attends various meetings such as Fall Risk, Wound Care, Weight Loss.
