Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 2 years direct care in long-term care/restorative/geriatric settings as an LPN/RN.
• Minimum 1 year nursing management experience.
• Current CPR certification; licensure/certifications meet state requirements with no disciplinary action.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, organizes, implements, and directs nursing services for residents on the unit assigned.
• Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and facility policies.
• Reviews complaints and grievances and reports to the Director of Nursing as required.
• Maintains adequate stock of medications, medical supplies, equipment, etc., on the unit.
• Assists in developing written preliminary and comprehensive assessments of residents’ nursing needs.
• Makes nursing/aide assignments as indicated.
• Encourages staff to attend outside training and schedules times as appropriate.
• Reviews nurses’ notes to ensure they are informative and reflect resident responses and care provided as per wishes.
• Establishes a culture of compliance and adherence to policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Follows safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies.
