Job summary

MercyOne in Iowa seeks a Weekend Shift Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care on the unit. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with physicians and the care team.

Responsibilities include patient education, supervision of care staff, accurate documentation, and safe use of IV pumps and monitoring equipment. Weekend and holiday coverage is required, with a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• RN license in the State of Iowa.
• Hospital nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care plan.
• Educates patients and families on health problems and care solutions.
• Supervises patient care staff as assigned.
• Uses EHR and communication tools to document and share information.
• Ensures proper documentation per policies and regulations.
• Works with limited supervision per Nurse Practice Act and policies.
• Maintains and uses IV pumps, monitors, and drainage devices.
• Works rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.
