Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing staff performance and delivery of care
• Plan and conduct shift staff meetings
• Identify problems in nursing care and implement corrective actions
• Prepare reports to Director of Nursing
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services
• Ensure confidentiality of resident information
• Develop work assignments and delegate authority
• Perform rounds and monitor unit activity
• Address complaints and take corrective action
• Ensure equipment and supply checks are done each shift
• Ensure safe, clean resident environment
• Participate in orientation and training of new staff
• Complete performance evaluations and initiate disciplinary actions
• Comply with nursing standards and facility procedures
• Ensure staffing levels meet patient needs
• Monitor time and attendance of nursing staff
• Review and document medication administration and MARs
• Support in safety and infection control programs
