Job summary

Good Shepherd Community Care in Greater Boston is seeking a Weekend Nurse (RN or LPN) to join its On-Call hospice team. The role covers home and facility visits, patient assessments, admissions coordination, and symptom management in a fast-paced, compassionate setting.

Fridays–Sundays, 9am–9pm, 36 hours per week, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Requires MA licensure (RN) or LPN, hospice experience preferred, excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Massachusetts or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Bachelor's degree preferred for the RN/LPN role.
• 2 years of nursing experience and at least 1 year of hospice or equivalent nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide home and facility visits as part of interdisciplinary hospice team.
• Assess patients, facilitate admissions to hospice services, and coordinate care planning.
• Triage and titrate medications to manage symptoms; educate patients and families about end-of-life care.

Travel to provide care in patients' private homes and residential facilities throughout Greater Boston and parts of MetroWest. The ideal candidate is well-organized and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced environment. Salary is based on 40 hours. This position is eligible for a $5000 sign-on Bonus.Job Responsibilities:The Weekend Nurse is an integral part of an interdisciplinary hospice team responsible for caring for patients at the end of life. Makes home and hospital visits, provides information sessions, evaluates new patients, facilitates admissions to hospice services, and coordinates care planning. Employs triage and assessment skills to titrate medications and manage symptoms appropriately and provides education to patients and families about terminal diseases and end-of-life processes. Communicates with an interdisciplinary hospice team about changes in patients' needs and outcomes of interventions.Schedule and Weekly Hours:Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from 9 am to 9 pm (36 hours/week).Education, Skills and Experience:Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Massachusetts or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
