Job summary

Glengariff Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in New York is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our geriatric-focused team. The RT will perform assessments, initiate therapies, maintain records, and operate equipment in a Skilled Nursing setting.

Candidates must hold an active respiratory license (RRT/CRT) in New York, have BLS, and bring experience with tracheostomy and long-term care. Weekend coverage is required with 4–8 hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required
