Job summary

Glengariff Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our geriatric-focused team in a skilled nursing setting. You will evaluate and treat residents, initiate therapies, and maintain thorough clinical documentation.

The ideal candidate holds an NY-licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT), with BLS certification, and experience in long-term care. Weekend coverage is required, with 4–8 hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, and compensation is

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing. BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience in a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

Education

COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program
