Job summary

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, KY seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide assessment, treatment, education and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies. This part-time, 0.5 FTE role covers weekends, 7a-7p, with every-other-weekend scheduling in the Respiratory Therapy department.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy, NBRC-certified, KY licensed, and BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy required upon hire.
• NBRC certification required.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in Kentucky required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Evaluates respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment outcomes.
• Responds to emergency resuscitation team calls.
• Educates patient and family about illness, medications and community resources.
