Weekend Requirements: As Needed | Work Hours: As Needed | Status: Per Diem/PRN - 0.0 FTE (less than 40 hours per pay period) | Entity: Owensboro Health Regional Hospital | Department: Respiratory Therapy

Job Summary: This role gains limited hands-on experience and observation of Respiratory procedures under the supervision of an Owensboro Health Respiratory Care team member.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Observes Respiratory related procedures.
  • Assists with EKG, gas management and patient transporting.
  • Cleans respiratory equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Stocks respiratory supplies.
  • Builds knowledge of healthcare privacy regulations (HIPPA) and supports efforts to maintain patient confidentiality in all tasks.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
  • Works under minimal supervision.
Position Requirements:

Work Experience No experience required

Education High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire AND Must be enrolled in a Respiratory program required upon hire

Licensure/Certification/Registration BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
