Job summary

The Grove at Valhalla Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New York seeks a full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) to assess and treat geriatric residents in a skilled nursing setting. You will perform respiratory therapies, maintain records, and ensure equipment readiness, including tracheotomy care in a long-term care environment.

Candidates must hold a COARC-accredited AS or BS in Respiratory, be licensed as RRT or CRT, and hold BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state of practice; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory assessments and initiate therapies to improve or rehab patients.
• Document patient care activities and maintain accurate records.
• Operate, check, and assemble respiratory equipment.
• Provide bedside treatments and in-services for nursing staff on a quarterly basis.
• Attend IDT meetings and participate in caseload management.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care settings.
