Job summary

Glengariff Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Glen Head, NY, seeks a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our geriatric-focused team in a skilled nursing setting. You will assess and treat patients, initiate therapies, and manage equipment while maintaining accurate records.

The ideal candidate is licensed in NY as RRT or CRT, holds BLS certification, and has experience in long-term care or with tracheostomy care. Weekend coverage is required, with 4–8 hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program; licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state where practicing; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments and implement respiratory techniques to rehab patients with various illnesses/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments.
• Provide in-services for nursing staff quarterly.
• Document daily, weekly and monthly records; attend IDT meetings.
