Job summary

St.-James-Rehabilitation-and-Healthcare-Center in New York seeks a full-time Respiratory Therapist for Saturday and Sunday coverage. The ideal candidate will evaluate and treat geriatric residents independently, hold an active state license, and be passionate about compassionate respiratory care.

Responsibilities include completing assessments, initiating therapies, maintaining records, and bedside treatments.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state of practice; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required
