Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner for a Weekend Alternative position. Provide specialized respiratory care independently with minimal supervision, assess patients, and develop individualized care plans with the health care team.

You will deliver treatments, operate ventilators/CPAP-BiPAP, collect data, and participate in quality improvement while mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy or related field required.
• Graduate of a registered respiratory therapy program accredited by CoARC.
• Maryland license as Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop individualized respiratory care plans with the team.
• Administer respiratory treatments and operate ventilators and CPAP/BiPAP and HFNC.
• Collect and interpret blood gases and adjust ventilatory settings accordingly.
• Respond to emergencies and support multidisciplinary care.
• Mentor less experienced practitioners and support student education.
• Maintain equipment and supplies per hospital policy and infection control.
• Document care accurately and protect patient confidentiality.
• Participate in quality improvement and hospital committees.
• Follow policies for safe, compassionate care in a weekend schedule.
