Job summary

WHOOP is seeking a Senior Research Manager to lead weekend operations at the Boston lab, overseeing participant sessions, data collection, and rigorous research delivery. This senior leadership role partners with the Human Subjects Research leadership team, shapes weekend strategy, and develops a high‑performing team of researchers and coordinators, all on-site with a 4x10 Friday–Monday schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field
• 5+ years of experience conducting research for consumer products, ideally wearables/health tech
• 3+ years of people management experience, including coaching and scaling teams
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior stakeholders
• Fluency with data management systems and AI tools to improve efficiency while upholding research rigor
• Experience overseeing emergency action planning, drills, safety and security initiatives, and on-site senior staff support
• Commitment to embracing AI tools in day-to-day tasks while maintaining high-quality standards

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Human Subjects Research leadership team to build a research roadmap and ensure high-quality data collection
• Collaborate with Community Engagement Lead to diversify participants in the WHOOP Labs research panel
• Own weekend operation oversight including participant experience, session execution, and handoffs
• Provide feedback on off-hours operations and contribute to retros, compliance meetings, and leadership forums
• Serve as a senior contributor on complex research initiatives while championing participant experience
• Manage, coach, and develop a team of researchers and coordinators for continuous improvement
