Job summary

Methodist Senior Services, Inc. is seeking a PRN Weekend Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team at Traceway Retirement Community in Tupelo, Mississippi.

This weekend position offers flexible hours to help residents maintain mobility and independence while working with an experienced therapy team. You will provide skilled interventions under a Physical Therapist's supervision, contributing to residents' safety, mobility, and quality of life in a faith-based, non-profit

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved PTA program.
• Current license or eligibility for Mississippi PTA license.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Provide skilled physical therapy interventions to improve strength, balance, coordination, and functional mobility.
• Assist residents with transfers, gait training, therapeutic exercises, and activities that promote safe mobility and independence.
• Monitor residents' responses to treatment and report progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Document treatments and progress in accordance with professional standards.
• Collaborate with residents, families, nursing staff and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Follow plans of care and report changes in residents' functional status.
