Job description

Position Overview: The Production General Laborer will be responsible for all tasks required for department efficiency. The Laborer will be assigned to any Production department, including Spray & Assembly. This is a weekend position with 12-hour shifts scheduled Friday through Sunday.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe work environment with a “safety first” mindset
• Follow all safety processes and procedures
• Operate power tools and hand tools to complete assigned tasks
• Assist with the fabrication and assembly of products in any Production Department – Spray & Assembly

SPRAY:

• Assist in the spray process of manufacturing trench drains and related products
• Prep, clean and polish forms
• Build and efficiently stack pallets with finished products (trenches and grates)
• Prepare pallets for shipment
• Contribute to the overall facility production goals on a daily basis
• Other duties as assigned

ASSEMBLY:

• Assemble and package drain and trench systems using a variety of hand tools
• Contribute to the overall facility production goals on a daily basis
• Other duties as assigned
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have at least 1 year of manufacturing experience as a Laborer
• Dependability to report to work is a must
• Must be able to read a tape measure
• Must be able to effectively use a variety of hand tools
• Must be able to read and interpret simple shop drawings
• Bilingual (English and Spanish, both oral and written) is a plus
• Must pass a drug screen and background check
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license

Education:

• High school diploma or GED preferred

Competencies (for all departments):

• Ability to prioritize work tasks and multi-task
• Ability to withstand extreme temperatures (hot and cold) and outside elements
• Ability to stand/walk/crouch/bend frequently throughout entire shift (up to 10 hours)
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
• Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred
• Must be able to form advantageous work relationships with peers, managers and plant management
