Job summary

Nashville Center For Rehabilitation and Healing in Tennessee seeks a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. The RT will evaluate and treat residents independently, participate in IDT meetings, and perform a wide range of bedside respiratory interventions to improve patient experience.

Candidates must hold an AS/BS in Respiratory Therapy from a COARC-accredited program, be licensed (RRT/CRT) in the practicing state, and possess BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and implement respiratory therapies to support geriatric patients in a skilled nursing setting.
• Initiate therapies, document patient records, operate and maintain equipment.
• Provide bedside treatments and educate nursing staff quarterly.
• Document daily, weekly and monthly activities and participate in IDT meetings.
• Manage caseload and perform respiratory interventions including airway clearance and ventilation support.

Schedule

• This will be your standing schedule. We are looking for a RT that can work the following schedule below consistently.
  • 4- 6 hours per shift; maybe up to 8 hours depending on caseload
  • Saturday and Sunday

Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain and progress the rehab patients with many different Respiratory illness/diseases and non respiratory illness.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required
