Job summary

Johnson Memorial Health in Franklin, Indiana is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join the laboratory team. You will perform specimen collection procedures, including venipuncture or skin puncture, follow lab protocols, verify patient information, and ensure proper specimen handling.

You will assist with clerical tasks, registration and order entry, respond to front desk needs, and provide guidance to customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; course work in Phlebotomy preferred.
• Experience with office equipment and medical terminology preferred.
• Phlebotomy coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen collection procedures, including venipuncture or skin puncture.
• Assists with registration and order entry for all patient phlebotomy specimens, following laboratory protocol.
• Processes requisitions for disposition of reports to lab files, physician offices, home health agencies, and other locations.
• Receives information for the laboratory department by answering phones and responding to front desk needs.
• Works with Johnson Memorial Health computer systems, printers, scanners for orders/requisitions from multiple referral sources.
• Provides guidance for customers regarding laboratory procedures and operations.
• Promotes positive relations with coworkers and demonstrates commitment to customer service and continuous quality improvement.
• Provides technical guidance for employees and customers as it relates to laboratory procedures and operations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
