Job summary

Children’s Wisconsin in Milwaukee is seeking a Part-Time Weekend Program Pediatric MRI Nurse to provide compassionate nursing care in the imaging department for pediatric patients.

The role requires 1 year of critical care/ER nursing and/or 3 years in pediatric nursing, plus BLS and PALS. Schedule is Saturdays and Sundays, 12-hour shifts, 7:00 am–7:30 pm, 0.6 FTE, with a sign-on bonus available and a focus on family-centered care and safety.

Qualifications

• Required 1 year nursing experience in critical care/emergency room and/or pediatric sedation, or 3 years general pediatric nursing experience.
• BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
• PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification.
• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN) to meet entry level requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care to pediatric patients undergoing exams or scans within the Imaging department.
• Coordinates patient care before, during and after exams, including sedation when applicable.
• Assesses patient needs and sedation or treatment options and communicates with families.
• Makes recommendations for procedural changes and improves care within imaging services.
• Administers sedation per policy guidelines and monitors patients closely.
• Educates parents/guardians about sedation risks, benefits and discharge instructions.
