HCA Florida West Hospital is seeking a Patient Registrar for weekend shifts to support patient intake and accurate registration processes. The role includes interviewing patients, verifying insurance, and collecting patient liabilities while ensuring smooth cashiering and documentation.

The position emphasizes exceptional customer service, accurate charting, and adherence to hospital policies on pricing, insurance verification, and signatures for treatment. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients at workstations or bedside to obtain all necessary account information.
• Provide exemplary customer service
• Ensure charts are completed and accurate
• Verify all insurance and obtain pre-certification/authorization
• Calculate and collect patient liability amounts
• Ensure that all necessary signatures are obtained for treatment
• Process patient charts according to paperwork flow needs and established productivity standards
• Interview incoming patients, relatives and/or other responsible individuals to obtain identifying and demographical information with insurance and financial information
• Assign Insurance Plans (IPlans) accurately
• Verify insurance benefits and determine pre-certification/authorization status via online or other resources.
• Secure all signatures necessary for treatments, release of medical information, assignment of insurance benefits, and payment of services from legally responsible parties.
• Understand/explain policies regarding services, pricing, insurance billing, and payment of account.
