The City of Lynchburg is seeking Relief Youth Workers for weekend 8-hour shifts at the Lynchburg Detention Center. This is an hourly pool position; successful candidates may be called for future vacancies.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old and will work under direct supervision to ensure safety and proper procedures. The role involves enforcing rules, supervising residents, and supporting educational activities while adhering to policy and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in criminal justice or related field preferred.
• High School/GED with related experience considered.

Responsabilités

• Enforce rules and maintain discipline for adolescents.
• Supervise residents in recreational activities and daily tasks.
• Conduct head counts and monitor security of facility.
• Prepare and file incident and progress reports.
• Administer medications as prescribed and provide first aid/CPR as needed.
• Transport residents to appointments and coordinate with staff.
