Job summary

St. Michael Poplar Springs Parish in Mount Airy, MD is seeking a part-time Custodian for weekends from 8 am to 1 pm (10 hours weekly). The role involves cleaning church and related spaces, performing minor maintenance, and ensuring safety standards are followed.

Reports to the Facilities Manager and collaborates with facilities staff. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma, Maryland driver's license with up to 3 points, and preferred cleaning experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have a Maryland driver’s license with no more than 3 points.
• Previous cleaning experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of safety standards for use of cleaning equipment and products is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans Church, parish office, community spaces, and mission buildings.
• Sweeps, vacuums, mops, and waxes floors as needed.
• Washes walls and windows, removes dust and debris as needed.
• Select equipment and materials for cleaning, replenishes supplies in buildings as needed.
• Removes trash from inside the buildings and from the grounds.
• Performs minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing filters and bulbs.
