Job summary

Sasha Bruce Youthwork, Inc. is seeking a Youth Engagement Specialist to coordinate the daily activities at Bruce House, ensuring a safe, supportive environment for high-risk youth in crisis. The YES creates a calm, structured setting and provides crisis intervention as needed.

The position is weekend overnight, Saturday and Sunday 11 PM to 7 AM, located in Washington, DC, and requires a High School Diploma or GED with experience in human services and with youth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in human services or a related field.
• Experience working with adolescents/young adults.

Responsibilities

• Report, plan and implement the weekday activity schedule.
• Regular house checks and room inspections as needed.
• Maintain logs, reports and documentation of activities.
• Provide crisis intervention and on-site counseling.
• Carry out emergency procedures and safety actions.
• Answer phones, record visitors and provide office coverage.
• Ensure supervision and enforce house rules and safety.
• Participate in training and regular supervision meetings.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
