Job summary

Embassy Suites by Hilton Denton Convention Center is seeking a part-time Security Guard to protect guests and property, monitor public areas, and respond to emergencies. The role requires alertness, strong communication, and the ability to follow procedures while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for guests.

Qualifications

• Security position requires alertness and physical fitness.
• Experience in protecting guests and property is preferred.
• Must be able to follow SOPs and report incidents promptly.

Responsibilities

• Patrols lobbies, corridors and restrooms, confers with management, interviews guests and team members and investigates disturbances.
• Patrols public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions and damaged or inoperative safety equipment.
• Warns or rejects individuals violating laws and company policies.
• Obtains assistance for accident victims and files accident reports.
• Notifies staff of suspicious persons and situations.
• Assists management and enforcement officers in emergencies.
• May enter guest rooms to check for unauthorized departure and seize property if needed.
• Reports to work on schedule, on time and in uniform per policy.
• Adheres to all company policies and duties and greets guests warmly.
• Embrace OHM culture and safety initiatives in daily work.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Now Hiring: Security Guard

Location:Embassy Suites by Hilton Denton Convention Center

• Patrols lobbies, corridors and public restrooms, confers with management, interviews guests and team members and interviews persons to detect infringements, investigates disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalism, etc.
• Patrols public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions and damaged or inoperative safety equipment.
• Acts to warn or reject individuals who violate legal regulations, including state and local laws.
• Obtains assistance for accident victims and files accident reports.
• Notifies staff of presence of persons with questionable reputations.
• Assists management and enforcement officers in emergency situations.
• May enter and check rooms of guests suspected of leaving without paying bill to confirm suspicions and to seize any remaining personal property.
• Reports to work for scheduled shift, on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
• Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
• Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.

Education & Experience:

• Security experience preferred (Military Veteran, Law Enforcement, Fire/EMS, Corrections)
• High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Current Driver’s License required.

Hours:

• Position requires flexibility to work adjusted schedule, including nights and weekends as needed. Responsible for responding to emergencies as necessary, requiring the possibility of response times occurring on nights and/or weekends.

Requirements of the Position:

• Standing for long periods of time.
• Light Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 to 2/3 of the time), and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists up to 2/3 or most of the time) to move objects.
• May be required to lift in excess of 40 pounds on occasion.
• This is a safety sensitive position that may be subject to additional safety requirements.

• Inside and outside work environment. Not substantially exposed to adverse conditions.
