Job summary

Virginia Veterinary Specialty & Emergency is seeking a Part-Time Weekend Overnight Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our ER Team. This position focuses on emergency medicine, working weekends from 7PM to 7AM in a supportive environment.

The ideal candidate will have an AAS in Veterinary Technology and an active LVT license. You will perform advanced veterinary nursing, assist in surgical procedures, and provide emergency care.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) license in good standing.
• 2+ years in emergency veterinary medicine preferred.
• Physically able to lift 40+ lbs (with assistance) and remain on feet for extended shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced veterinary nursing, including restraint and postoperative care.
• Assist veterinarians in emergency procedures, anesthesia, and monitoring.
• Provide emergency care such as CPR and fluid therapy.
• Conduct diagnostic and lab testing.
• Educate clients on care, treatments, and follow-up needs.
