Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a registered nurse with 12+ months of experience to provide and coordinate care within a clinical specialty. You will be a fully integrated member of the multidisciplinary patient care team, applying evidence-based practice and participating in unit-based development.

Qualifications

• Maryland RN licensure required or eligible via Compact state agreements.
• Current AHA BLS certification is required.
• Unit-specific certifications: PALS, ACLS and NRP.
• 12+ months nursing experience and solid clinical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate independent care to patients within a clinical specialty.
• Serve as a clinical resource and advocate for patient/family needs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to plan and coordinate care.
• Model practice consistent with unit operations to ensure safe, patient-centered care.
• Participate in unit-based staff development and precept new nurses.
• Contribute to governance and recruitment activities at the unit level.
