Job summary

AristaCare Health Services is seeking an Activities Recreation Director to plan, develop, and direct our facility's recreation program. This role ensures activities meet residents' physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being, under the direction of the Administrator.

The ideal candidate brings CTRS or state-approved training, with at least two years in a social or recreation program, including one year in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• CTRS preferred.
• Two years of experience in a social or recreation program within the last five years, one year in a patient activities program in a health care setting.
• Must be a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant or have completed a state-approved training course.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activity programs of the facility.
• Assist in the development, administration, and coordination of department policies and procedures.
• Provide consultation to staff and community agencies to address resident needs through activity programs.
• Assist Infection Control Coordinator in identifying and classifying routine and job-related activity tasks with potential exposure to blood/body fluids.
• Oversee overall operation of the Recreation/ Activity Department in accordance with policies and regulations.
