Job summary

The Center for Living and Rehabilitation is seeking a Recreation / Activities Director to lead engaging resident programs and foster a vibrant, caring community in Bennington.

Eligible candidates include those certified as a therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional, or OT/OT assistant with relevant state-approved training, plus 2 years of recent full-time experience in therapeutic settings.

Qualifications

• Eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional by a recognized accrediting body (on/after 10/1/1990) or
• 2 years of experience in a full-time, therapeutic program (social or recreational) within the last 5 years or
• The individual is a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) or OT assistant or
• Has completed a State-approved training course

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activity programs of this facility.
• Assist in the development, administering, and coordinating of department policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for the identification of medically related activity needs of the resident.
• Participate in community planning related to the interests of the facility and the services and needs of the resident and family.
• Participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments.
• Involve residents and families in planning facility activity programs.
• Assist in arranging transportation to other facilities when necessary.
