We are hiring Unit Managers to join our dynamic care team at Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Worcester! Full-time and part-time options are available on weekends between 7a-11p. Candidates can choose to work every weekend or every other weekend; we are flexible. Weekly pay! Working with our team and residents will give you purpose in your professional and personal life.

The Unit Manager is responsible for the 24-hour coordination and management of resident care activities, unit operations, and nursing personnel on a designated nursing unit or shift, in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines governing long-term care facilities.

Education & Experience:
  • Must possess an active and unencumbered LPN or RN license in Massachusetts.
  • Bachelor's in Nursing preferred; CPR certification required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a resource to staff in clinical and managerial decision-making, delegate responsibilities accordingly.
  • Assist in developing methods of coordinating nursing services with other resident care services to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in inspections (surveys) by authorized government agencies.
  • Participate in and ensure appropriate assessment of residents, validate nursing staff’s clinical decisions.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and communication of resident care plans.
  • Ensure staff implements care plans, performs care activities appropriately, and recognizes changes in resident status.
  • Conduct frequent rounds on nursing units to ensure staff performance and resident needs are met.
  • Monitor documentation procedures, audit daily to ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility requirements, and follow up on issues.
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet resident needs.
  • Manage staffing needs within established patterns and meet regularly with staff to address issues and improve services.
  • Provide direct care to residents as needed or required.
  • Follow universal precautions and infection control policies.
  • Review complaints and grievances, document actions taken, and report to the Director of Nursing.
Specific Requirements:
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Accurate assessment skills and familiarity with drug actions/interactions.
  • Ability to tactfully interact with personnel, residents, families, visitors, and government agencies.
  • Leadership and supervisory skills, with a willingness to work harmoniously with staff.
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, and implement programs, policies, and procedures for quality care.
