Job summary

Landmark Management Solutions' Worcester, MA facility is seeking a Weekend Nursing Supervisor to serve as the clinical leader on the designated shift, directing staff and ensuring essential nursing department functions are maintained.

You will monitor staffing, coach staff, evaluate care quality, conduct rounds, manage care plans, stabilize residents in distress, coordinate with physicians, and communicate with families, while ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.

Qualifications

• Two years of leadership experience in long-term care.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with residents, families and staff.
• BLS Certification preferred; RN preferred.
• Strong clinical leadership and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as clinical leader for the assigned shift and maintain essential nursing department functions.
• Monitor staffing schedule and allocate personnel to meet resident needs.
• Coach staff using nursing process and guidelines for clinical decisions.
• Act as the “person in charge” and direct staff during emergencies.
• Evaluate quality of care provided to residents.
• Conduct rounds to monitor staff assignments and resident concerns; adjust as needed.
• Evaluate residents and manage care plans to meet goals.
• Stabilize residents in acute distress and obtain further medical assistance as needed.
• Directly contact physicians to ensure timely care.
• Collaborate with other departments, physicians, providers, vendors, and staff.
• Communicate effectively with families and visitors.
• Honor residents' rights and dignity and ensure honesty about property and information.
• Know and enforce fire and disaster plans and PPE usage.
• Maintain ongoing compliance with state and federal guidelines; provide feedback to the DON.

Weekend Nursing Supervisor

Responsibilities of the Weekend Nursing Supervisor

• Serves as the clinical leader for assigned shift and performs such duties as designated by the Director of Nursing to maintain all essential nursing department functions:
• Monitor staffing schedule and allocate personnel to meet the needs of the residents.
• Functions as a clinical resource, assisting and coaching the staff using nursing process and practice guidelines in making clinical decisions based on data and assessment of the residents.
• Is the “person in charge” of the center and directs staff to ensure timely response during emergencies.
• Demonstrates ability to evaluate the quality of care provided to the residents.
• Conducts rounds on each unit to monitor staff assignments, and resident concerns and makes adjustments as dictated by circumstances and resident needs.
• Evaluates individual residents and, manages the team and implements/adjusts the care plan to address the needs and goals of each resident as necessary.
• Ensures that residents in acute distress are stabilized and monitored until further medical assistance can be obtained.
• Contacts physicians directly when necessary to ensure timely care of the residents.
• Works collaboratively with other departments, physicians, nurse practitioners, medical providers, vendors, and staff.
• Communicate effectively with family and visitors.
• Demonstrates the knowledge of and ability to honor the rights and dignity of residents, staff, visitors and community as well as dealing honesty with the residents or centers property and information.
• Ensures the knowledge of the fire and disaster plan as well as the use of personal protective equipment by staff and for themselves.
• Is accountable for ongoing compliance with state and federal guidelines working to make corrections when issues or cited and providing ongoing feedback to the Director of Nursing

Qualifications of the Weekend Nursing Supervisor

• Two years’ experience in the long term care setting
• At least one year of experience in leadership and supervision of peer staff
• Excellent interpersonal skills - able to communicate and work well with others including the elderly, families, and co-workers.
• BLS Certification (Preferred)
• RN (Preferred)

Schedule

2, 12-hour shifts per day with rotating weekends
