Job summary

Cust-O-Fab is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC drills and related equipment in our Sand Springs shop. The role requires reading prints, measuring parts with calipers and micrometers, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols on the factory floor.

The ideal candidate brings 2 years of CNC drill experience, a high school diploma or GED, and strong teamwork, communication, and reliability. This full-time position may involve overtime to meet production needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be safety-oriented and follow all shop protocols.
• 2 years CNC drill experience required.
• Experience in fabrication of shell & tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, or towers preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret prints and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC drills and machines.
• Read prints for required specifications and dimensions.
• Measure parts using measuring tools (tape measure, dial calipers, dial indicators, micrometers).
• Remove slag using grinders.
• Operate overhead cranes to load machines with parts.
• Cut supports to length with a hot saw.
• Occasionally operate forklifts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC drills and machines:

• Wear proper PPE at all times on shop floor and follow all safety protocols and procedures
• Read prints for required specifications and dimensions
• Measure parts using different measuring tools (tape measure, dial calipers, dial indicators, micrometers)
• Remove slag using grinders
• Operate overhead cranes on daily basis to load machines with parts
• Cut supports to lengths needed using a hot saw
• Occasionally operate forklifts
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned, which may include performing basic tasks when such a need arises

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Must be a highly safety-oriented individual
• 2 years CNC Drill experience required
• Previous experience in the manufacturing and fabrication of shell & tube heat exchangers, pressure preferred vessels and/or towers
• Problem solving capabilities
• Ability to follow instructions and work well with others
• Verbal communication skills
• Ability to be punctual
• Ability to work overtime if needed

Physical requirements

Ability to lift 50 lbs., sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, etc. Work environment may include high noise areas, working at heights, confined spaces, congested work sites, shift work, duration rotations, shop setting, etc.
