Job Title: CNC Technician

Classification: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Department: Tooling

Reports To: Tooling Supervisor

Position: Nights

Position Summary

Produce and repair forging dies by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting up CNC mills by installing tools, fixturing, setting work offsets, etc...
• Maintains specifications by observing cutting, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming CNC machines
• Utilizing overhead cranes for loading workpieces into CNC machines
• Documents actions and verifies process adherence by completing process documentation
• Maintain sanctity of the workspace through the enforcement of 5s principles
• Maintains safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations
• Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements (PM), troubleshooting minor maintenance issues, and calling for repairs
• Accomplishes departmental goals by taking ownership of the machining process
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

• Previous CNC experience (operation/programming)
• 3-5 years’ experience in machining or manufacturing preferred

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit/stand/walk 12 hrs. per day
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs
• Ability to work in hot/cold environments
