Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation in Meridian, MS seeks a Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care in a busy hospital setting. You will collaborate with physicians, leadership and the care team to promote safe, effective nursing care and patient education.

The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire; at least 1 year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• RN licensure with BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care in the assigned care setting.
• Communicates and collaborates with physicians, leadership, co-workers, and other multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
• Assesses the patient appropriately and accurately based on their medical condition.
• Administers ordered medications and provides care appropriate to the patient’s condition and age.
• Develops and evaluates a teaching plan including family involvement.
• Assists physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical skills.
• Identifies psychosocial needs and coordinates with social services for hospital and post-discharge needs.
• Demonstrates cost-effective practices and efficient use of supplies.
• Prioritizes patient care and promotes patient safety.
• Engages in lifelong learning related to the nursing profession.
