Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care in Meridian, MS is seeking a registered nurse to deliver direct and indirect patient care in the assigned setting. You will collaborate with physicians, leadership, and a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes and uphold patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.

Responsibilities include assessing patients, administering medications, educating patients and families, and participating in procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Computer literacy is required.
• ACLS/PALS certification preferred; BLS certification required within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient appropriately and accurately based on their medical condition.
• Administers medications as prescribed.
• Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient including basic self-care activities.
• Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching as appropriate.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to provide patient care.
• Assists physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.
• Addresses psychosocial needs of patients and family; coordinates with social services for hospital and post-discharge needs.
• Promotes cost-effective practices and efficient use of supplies, linen, and items.
• Prioritizes patient care effectively and commits to lifelong learning.
