Job summary

Sonoco in Jackson, TN is seeking an experienced forklift driver with a TN Class A CDL and active DOT medical card for a weekend night shift. The role provides a base rate of $27.21/hr with boosts to $28.29 and $29.97 after performance milestones, plus $1/hr night and weekend differential.

Responsibilities include safe operation of sit-down forklifts, loading 20 pallets per load, and maintaining equipment. Overtime may be required; certification and DOT compliance are mandatory.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating sit-down forklifts in a shipping/logistics environment.
• Must hold TN Class A CDL and an active DOT medical card.
• Forklift certification or prior certification.
• Ability to read and understand Excel reports and to use RF scanners.

Responsibilities

• Inspect machinery and work area before operations for safety.
• Operate forklift to load/move materials, ~20 pallets per shift.
• Maintain and repair forklift equipment; log maintenance procedures.
• Support logistics through storage, transport, and equipment upkeep.
• Handle loading/unloading cycles on a 48' trailer, multiple loads per shift.
