Job summary

KTVZ News in Oregon is seeking a Meteorologist/Forecaster to join our Local Alert Weather team, delivering accurate, engaging forecasts across broadcast and streaming platforms, and contributing to our trusted weather coverage.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in meteorology and/or atmospheric sciences; candidates with communications or journalism degrees and strong weather interest will also be considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in meteorology and/or atmospheric sciences.
• Candidates with degrees in communications and/or journalism and strong weather interest may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Analyze weather data and forecast models to produce accurate, timely forecasts.
• Communicate weather information clearly and engagingly to our audience across multiple platforms.
• Contribute reports to our “Shifting Seasons” franchise highlighting climate and seasonal weather stories for viewers in the region.
• This is primarily a weekend position with weekday fill-ins for morning and evening broadcasts as needed.
