Job summary

Vertiv in Pelzer, SC seeks a Mechanical Fitter to assemble mechanical components from intake to shipment using hand tools and power tools, reading blueprints, and tape measures. You will operate forklifts and overhead cranes, troubleshoot issues, and document corrective actions.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, teamwork, and strong mechanical and safety knowledge; preferred are related technical credentials and experience with overhead cranes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Able to work effectively in a team environment.
• Prior experience using hand tools and operating forklifts.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive, solutions-focused attitude supporting plant goals.
• Read and interpret blueprints to assemble components using hand tools.
• Transport components with forklifts, overhead cranes, and material handling equipment.
• Perform mechanical troubleshooting and document corrective actions.
• Collaborate with team to meet daily production targets.
• Assist with basic maintenance tasks and support other teams.
• Maintain accurate production records of parts assembled and quantities.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
