Queen Anne's County Government, Maryland seeks a part-time Certified Medication Technician to support the MAT program at the Detention Center. This grant-funded role offers flexible weekend hours and requires adherence to nursing protocols in a correctional setting.

The CMT administers medications under RN supervision, monitors patient health, maintains records, and collaborates with health department and university partners to ensure safe, compliant care, including documentation for grant

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of one year administering medication experience in a correctional setting is required.
• Current Maryland Board of Nursing Medication Technician certification is required.
• CPR certification is required.
• Possession of a Class C Maryland Driver's License (or ability to obtain within 30 days) is required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Nurse in providing direct care to incarcerated individuals in the Detention Facility.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments under supervision of a registered nurse.
• Monitor health status and report findings to the supervising nurse.
• Document nursing measures and communicate revisions to the supervising nurse.
• Assist in Jail Opioid Telehealth services in collaboration with University of Maryland.
• Maintain records for grant payment purposes.
• Encourage and assist patients in understanding their health status and developing self-care measures.
