Job summary

Licking Memorial Health Systems is seeking a part-time Massage Therapist to join our on-site team in Newark, OH. The role requires weekend availability on Saturdays and Sundays, with responsibilities spanning evaluation, therapy implementation, patient education, and documentation within LMHS facilities.

The therapist will collaborate with hospital staff, adhere to state laws and professional standards, and contribute to community health through therapeutic massage services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited School of Massage Therapy in Therapeutic Massage.
• Licensed by the State of Ohio Medical Board / Massage Therapy.
• Passed the National Certification Exam, AMTA, or eligible to take exam.
• Maintain CPR certification.
• LMH S accreditation by DNV and TJC may require annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.

Responsibilities

• Review referral and patient's medical records to help determine diagnosis and determine appropriate intervention.
• Confer with the patient, medical practitioners and appropriate others to determine appropriate intervention.
• Provide information to the patient about the proposed interventions, its material risks and expected benefits and any reasonable alternatives.
• Administer therapeutic interventions according to state laws, national associations, and applicable policies and procedures.
• Record treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enter information into computer.
• Evaluate effects of intervention and to achieve maximum benefit.
• Educate Massage Therapy students as well as those in other health professions.

Education

Graduate of accredited School of Massage Therapy in Therapeutic Massage
