LMHS is seeking a part-time Massage Therapist to join our Newark campus on Saturdays and Sundays. The role includes evaluating adult patients, implementing therapy programs, and educating families and staff about indications and benefits of massage therapy.

Responsibilities include documenting progress, reviewing referrals, and collaborating with medical teams. This position may float across LMHS as needed and requires Ohio licensure, CPR, and certification.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited School of Massage Therapy in Therapeutic Massage.
  • Passed the National Certification Exam, AMTA, or are eligible to take exam.
  • Licensed by the State of Ohio Medical Board / Massage Therapy.
  • Maintain CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate adult patients for Massage Therapy as a result of injury or disease.
  • Implement Massage Therapy programs and services to meet the clinical needs of patients and families.
  • Educate family members, hospital staff, and the community regarding indications and benefits of Massage Therapy.
  • Document evaluation results and patient progress, and provide patient education.
  • May float throughout LMHS and perform other duties as requested.

Summary:

The Massage Therapist is responsible for evaluating adult patients for Massage Therapy as a result of injury or disease; implementing Massage Therapy programs and services to meet the clinical needs of patients and families; providing education/in‑services for family members, hospital staff, and the community regarding the indications and benefits of Massage Therapy; documenting evaluation results and patient progress, and providing patient and family education. May be required to float throughout LMHS and perform other duties as requested.

Responsibilities:

  • Review referral and patient's medical records to help determine diagnosis and determine appropriate intervention.
  • Confer with the patient, medical practitioners and appropriate others to determine appropriate intervention.
  • Provide information to the patient about the proposed interventions, its material risks and expected benefits and any reasonable alternatives.
  • Administer therapeutic interventions according to state laws, national associations, and applicable policies and procedures.
  • Record treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enter information into computer.
  • Evaluate effects of intervention and to achieve maximum benefit.
  • Educate Massage Therapy students as well as those in other health professions.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of accredited School of Massage Therapy in Therapeutic Massage
  • Passed the National Certification Exam, AMTA, or are eligible to take exam.
  • Licensed by the State of Ohio Medical Board / Massage Therapy.
  • Maintain CPR certification
  • LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.
