Weekend Manufacturing Process Engineer - Roll Forming

Seeking a hands-on manufacturing engineer to support operations in our production facility. Ideal candidates will be safety-minded with experience in roll forming, progressive stamping, or metal forming processes. Strong troubleshooting skills are required. What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide hands-on process engineering support for production, including launching new products, resolving production issues, and process improvements.
• Lead process optimization efforts.
• Serve as a technical resource for machine capabilities and product limitations.
• Enhance process control and product quality.
• Improve operational effectiveness through bottleneck analysis and setup time reduction.
• Review tooling, machine, and product drawings using 3D CAD software.
• Troubleshoot machine and tooling issues during production and product launches.
• Assist Quality Assurance in qualifying gauges and measuring devices.
• Communicate with customers regarding process-related concerns (some travel required).

Schedule

This overtime-exempt role primarily involves twelve-hour shifts, three days per week, typically 5AM – 5PM Friday to Sunday or similar. Training on first shift for up to 6 months is required.

Physical Demands

Regularly requires sitting, talking, hearing; occasionally standing, walking, using hands, and reaching. Must be able to lift/move up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment

Exposure to office and manufacturing areas requiring PPE such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection. Exposure to moving parts, temperature variations, odors, airborne particles, vibration, and loud noise levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with metal-forming processes like roll forming, stamping, tooling, welding, CNC machining, or laser cutting.
• Computer skills including MS Office, CAD, and manufacturing software.
• Lean manufacturing experience.
• US Person status as defined by ITAR & EAR.

Preferred Candidates Will Also Have

• Engineering degree (Electrical or Mechanical preferred).
• Experience with roll forming, stamping, tryout, or R&D.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, manual mills & lathes, PLC, electrical controls, PFMEA, SPC, GD&T, quality systems.
