Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie in Columbus, OH is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support Production Operations by maintaining and repairing plant equipment, including air compressors, stamping presses, and support systems. This full-time, weekend shift role runs Friday through Sunday from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM.

You will diagnose issues, perform startup and preventive maintenance, mentor technicians, and help ensure safe, reliable production.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent preferred.
• 3 years of maintenance technician experience and/or training desired.
• Mechanical skills: troubleshoot and repair equipment; read mechanical drawings.
• Electrical skills: size circuits, read schematics, install electrical components.
• Accountability and dependability: punctual, follow instructions and schedules.
• Math skills: perform basic arithmetic, rates, ratios, percentages.
• Language: read/interpret safety rules and write reports; communicate well.
• Reasoning: solve practical problems with multiple variables.

Responsibilities

• Repair, install, troubleshoot, start-up, and provide maintenance on all plant equipment (60%).
• Perform maintenance needs of the plant as required (25%).
• Manage work orders and preventative maintenance with technicians (10%).
• Train and mentor technicians and share best practices (5%).
