Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a large-scale distribution center in New Jersey to ensure uptime of critical equipment and automated conveyors. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated systems in a fast-paced facility.

You will troubleshoot motors, conveyors, sensors, and related automation, while mentoring teammates and upholding stringent safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Troubleshoot and repair motors, conveyors, sensors, and automated equipment using schematics and manuals.
  • Work on electrical systems, including troubleshooting of controls and automation.
  • Commitment to safety and efficiency in a large-scale warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions using blueprints, schematics, manuals, and hands-on tools.
  • Perform maintenance on sorters, conveyors, labelers, and powered equipment.
  • Work on electrical systems, including VFDs and PLCs, troubleshooting electrical issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, functional facility and perform routine building repairs.
  • Lead root-cause analysis for major repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Adhere to federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Mentor and train teammates on repairs and procedures.

Your Role:

As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on critical distribution center equipment and automated conveyor systems. You will play a vital role in keeping our facility operational and efficient by performing repairs on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated systems. What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience:Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair motors, conveyor systems (belts, photo eyes, sensors), and associated automated equipment.
  • Technical Skills:Foundational knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting; comfort working with various electrical controls and automated systems.

  • Physical Requirements:Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks like bending, stooping, and climbing.

salary: $62,000 - $70,000 per year

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting & Repair:Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions promptly using blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and hands‑on diagnostic tools.
  • System Maintenance:Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on sorters, conveyors, labelers, and powered industrial equipment.
  • Technical Expertise:Work on electrical systems, including VFDs and PLCs, and utilize your knowledge of electrical troubleshooting.
  • Facility Upkeep:Complete routine building repairs and maintain a clean, organized, and fully functional facility.
  • Root Cause Analysis:Lead major repairs and perform root cause analysis to minimize downtime.
  • Compliance:Adhere to all federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Collaboration:Mentor and train team members on repairs, processes, and procedures.
The essential functions of this role include:
