Weekend Maintenance/Production Supervisor – 3rd Shift (Part Time)

Salary
Pay Range: $30 - $34 per hour plus $2 shift differential.
Main Function
Responsible for maintaining plant equipment while also overseeing production operations during the assigned shift. This role combines hands‑on maintenance expertise with front‑line production supervision, ensuring equipment reliability, production efficiency, and facility oversight.
Schedule and Hours
3rd shift, Friday and Saturday, 11 pm – 7:15 am.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Good math skills and ability to read and understand instructions and manuals.
- Thorough knowledge of PLC‑controlled machinery and electrical machine maintenance.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills for overseeing production personnel.
- Ability to make sound decisions independently during the shift.
- Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and general computer applications.
- Experience with building construction and modification; electrical, plumbing, and HVAC expertise.
- Valid driver’s license; able to transport 50 pounds and operate shop equipment, power tools, and hand tools.
- EPA certification is preferred but not required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair manufacturing equipment, especially electrical and PLC‑controlled equipment.
- Oversee production operations to ensure safety, quality, and productivity targets are met.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all production and maintenance issues during the shift.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and manage attendance for all personnel on shift.
- Approve employee time‑off and vacation requests in accordance with company policy.
- Coordinate production priorities and communicate effectively with other shifts and management.
- Enforce adherence to standard operating procedures, quality requirements, and safety policies.
- Identify and elevate production, personnel, or equipment issues as needed.
- Drive accountability and performance within the team.
- Maintain a total productive maintenance program following manufacturers’ instructions and established procedures, covering equipment such as HVAC, vacuum systems, dust collection, dehumidifiers, air compressors, furnaces, and lighting.
- Assist with equipment breakdowns and complete maintenance work requests assigned by the Maintenance Engineering Manager.
- Assist in modifications described in approved project proposals and use breaks in major projects to complete smaller tasks.
Miscellaneous
- Participate in lean activities such as kaizen events, 5‑S programs, and DMAICs to improve departmental and personal efficiencies.
- Notify the Manager of production, equipment, safety, or personnel problems and cooperate in resolving them.
- Provide feedback for additional training and obtain training as necessary.
- Comply with all company policies (personnel, safety, etc.).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Environmental Factors and Physical Demands
- Primarily works indoors in a temperature‑controlled environment; occasionally in outdoor or confined spaces (e.g., HVAC, compressors, snow removal).
- Requires frequent walking, climbing, kneeling, stooping, bending, driving, and transporting up to 50 pounds.
- Operates various shop equipment, power tools, and hand tools.
- Requires good math skills and ability to read operating instructions and manuals.
